Wedding Photography

An exciting day for Elizabeth Ryan Photography! We had our first wedding consultation and have received a call from the wonderful couple to say that they want us to be their photographers for their wedding! YAY! Elizabeth and Ryan Photography has booked their first wedding for September 5, 2009. What a special moment for us!

Exciting news #2: We got a new camera! Another Canon... but this one is just a little nicer than the last! Canon EOS 5D Mark II ...21 Mega pixels produces incredibly clear pictures! More to come about the camera another time.

We tested the camera out with our tripod and timer to try to get some good pictures of us for our website! We were quite pleased. Here are a few pictures of us... that didn't make the cut for our website, but we certainly will keep close by for our own smiles!

Inspired by a 2 Year Old

Last weekend we spent some time with a beautiful family that we met at the Believe In Tomorrow Children's House. The family has been in and out of Johns Hopkins Children's Hospital for multiple procedures since their 2 1/2 year old boy was born. We had taken pictures of his sister while he was still in the hospital recovering from surgery, but this time we had the opportunity to take pictures of the tough guy! His strength and attitude was incredible and you would have never known that he was discharged from the hospital just one day before these pictures were taken. They are such a sweet family and we were so excited to be able to get some pictures of the four of them! Enjoy the photos!

Believe in Tomorrow

This past weekend we had the opportunity to photograph families and children staying at the Believe In Tomorrow Children's House at Johns Hopkins. Believe In Tomorrow is a non-profit that provides exceptional hospital and retreat housing services to critically ill children and their families. We have been volunteering at Believe in Tomorrow for the past year now and have been inspired by the families and children that have stayed there. During the family's stay at the house, a child in their family is being treated at Hopkins Children's Center. Some of the children are inpatient, some outpatient; some are going through a scheduled surgery and some are going through their 5th scheduled surgery; some drove to the house for a routine check-up and some flew by helicopter after a life-changing emergency; some are from a state close by and some have crossed oceans to get here! It is an amazing place and we have been blessed with the opportunity to meet so many incredibly inspiring people who are always so grateful and appreciative for the life they have been given!

With the start of our new business, we planned to add a piece of service to our business plan! (of course :) ). So, this is the start of the service portion of Elizabeth Ryan Photography. Thank you to the families who have shared their journeys with us. For the families we were able to photograph this weekend- thank you for your excitement and willingness to let us capture these images that will hopefully put a smile on your face during the toughest of times!
